Optically Bonded Screen:
Optical bonding reduces internal reflectance to <1% by using a material with a refractive index close to glass and the LCD.
Screen with a Gap:
Displays with an air gap have 4-6% reflectance per surface, totaling 10-12% with both surfaces of the protective plate.
Optically Bonded Screen:
Reflections are minimized, maintaining 95-98% of the original brightness, even in bright outdoor light.
Screen with a Gap:
Internal reflections reduce effective brightness by 10-15%, making the display appear dimmer in bright conditions.
Optically Bonded Screen:
Contrast ratio is well-preserved, with only a 5-10% reduction.
Screen with a Gap:
Reflections and ambient light reduce the contrast ratio by 25-30% in outdoor conditions.
Poorly matched mixture of resin adhesive may turn yellow under exposure to chemicals or UV radiation, which adversely affects the visual reception of the display.
Tensioning of the adhesive can cause mechanical stress on the TFT LCD front polarizer, which results in mura. This is especially visible when displaying dark content.
High quality guarantees longer lifetime (The lifetime of the LCD and backlight is shorter.).
The selected layer thickness is many times 100 µm, the tolerance is very small, +/- 10%. We have carefully selected adhesive and have developed a fully proprietary in-house curing and dispensing process which assures controlled layer thcokness.
